OUR STORY

Judge Smith formed in 2003 and continues with original members Ed Smith (vocals and guitar), John David Coppola (bass and vocals), and Pete Eisler (lead guitar and vocals). The band released its debut CD, “Feel it,” recorded at Cue Studios in Falls Church, VA, in November 2003.

 

In 2005, John and Ed teamed up to record “Visions,” a duo acoustics release. John and Ed regularly perform as an acoustic duo throughout the year.

 

Joe Wells (drums) joined the band in 2008, and with John David Coppola, creates a phenomenal rhythm section behind the band’s three part harmonies and funk rock sound.

 

In September 2012, Judge Smith released “American Vista,” a full length CD which includes nine original compositions by Ed Smith and was nominated for best roots/rock CD by the Washington Area Musicians Association, "WAMA." A number of infamous rogues known throughout the DC region, including Joe Chiocca, Seth Kibel, Josh Howell (Tom Principato Band), Michelle Grasso, and Hank Rueter, can be heard on several tracks.

 

Judge Smith also recorded a live CD in 2014, “Live at KSB.” Brian Curtiss of the band, Shirkaday, recorded, mixed, and mastered this fun release.

 

Judge Smith plays a range of music; from blues, country, funk, andgood old rock and roll to audiences throughout the DMV.
